Yodlee Integration - Advisor Steps
This article will walk through how to initiate the Yodlee integration from your advisor account.
Last published on: September 29, 2025
Adding linked accounts to each household is a great way to fully leverage the planning capabilities within Income Lab. Your clients can link accounts that will be used to fund their retirement, including accounts not managed by you. This portion of the implemented plan will be updated automatically, giving you more accurate, real-time results. You can set up linked accounts during or after the initial household setup.
⚠️ Important Notice
To ensure data security, clients must to enter login credentials for each financial institution they are linking to their household. They can then link to their Income Lab profile to some or all accounts they hold at that institution under those login credentials. These credentials are managed through Yodlee.
At no point does Income Lab have access to or store client credentials to third-party sites. This protects sensitive information like usernames and passwords, and protects you by ensuring that your clients have given proper consent to have their account information aggregated inside of Income Lab.
Option 1: Add Linked Accounts During the Initial Household Setup
- Click Add Household from the main Households page and select the standard option.

- Enter the household name, email, and plan permissions.
The Plan Permissions do not determine or have anything to do with linking their account via Yodlee. Your client will have the ability to link their accounts regardless of the permissions you select. Some advisors select the Can view, create, and edit income plan option if they plan on having the client or prospect perform some of the data entry.

- Enter the client(s) information: first name, last name, birth date, and gender.
You'll only need to enter the client's month and year of birth, rather than the full date of birth. The software uses actuarial data, which is limited to the male and female genders.

- Click Save and Create Plan, then click Send to send an invitation to your client to log in to the portal and link their accounts.

- Share the following article link or video with your client. These include instructions on how to link their outside accounts.

hi there I wanted to quickly show you
0:02
how to add in linked accounts in the
0:05
client portal itself so with the new
0:07
user interface we used to have an area
0:09
up here where the client would come in
0:11
it would say linked accounts they can go
0:13
in and add their outside accounts
0:15
through our Yodo integration with our
0:17
new user interface we do have a new area
0:19
to find this here in the client portal
0:22
this would be up on the top right you
0:24
have your profile picture and now that
0:26
same link accounts button is
0:28
here go
0:30
click that you click Add accounts and
0:32
you could type in that outside account
0:34
that you're trying to pull in from these
0:36
various you know bank accounts or other
0:38
firms here one thing to note is that
0:41
when you do get it linked essentially
0:42
the client is making it available for
0:45
use for the adviser so the adviser would
0:47
still need to go back in on their end
0:50
click add linked accounts once you're in
0:51
the assets Tab and from there they can
0:55
go in and add these outside accounts
0:57

Option 2: Add Linked Accounts After the Initial Household Setup
- From the main Households page, find and select the household.

- Click the pencil icon on the top right-hand side of the page to go into the Household's inputs section.

- Click the blue pencil Edit icon.

- Enter the client's email address and confirm that you have the correct plan permissions, then click Send Client Portal Invitation Email to invite your client to the client portal.

✅ Best Practices
After you click Send Client Portal Invitation Email, an email will go to your clients inviting them to sign up for Income Lab. Their username will be the email address you entered for their household.
You may need to follow up with your clients to ensure they have received the email and check their spam if they don't see it.
- Share the following article link or video with your client. These include instructions on how to link their outside accounts.
